Family and friends are very important relationships for someone diagnosed with a form of dementia, they not only provide support, but they may also take on the role of caregivers.

At Tessera our residents enjoy a feeling of belonging, where a highly trained care team is committed to improving their quality of daily living and providing a comfortable and safe environment.

Our staff is available to all residents 24 hours per day, perform regular wellness checks, and is prepared to respond immediately to any emergency situation.
Our team also includes skilled nurses that can provide care for older adults who require specialized medical care and assistance that can only be administered by professionally licensed staff.
Tessera’s memory care community is designed to meet the specific care needs imposed by memory loss, and provides a safe and supportive environment for those living with the effects of memory loss, usually as a result of Alzheimer’s, dementia or brain injury.

MOVING A PARENT TO MEMORY CARE
Moving is hard for everyone, but can be especially difficult for someone with memory loss; therefore, transitioning to a new living environment should be done in small steps.
Take them to visit the community. Let them meet the staff, take part in a few activities and check out the living options available.
Our community provides respite care, arrange for them to spend a few weeks at the community to further familiarize themselves with the community, its staff and schedules.
These small steps help make the final move easier.
When the time comes to move, bring some of their personal items and arrange them similarly to their placement in their previous living space.
